Ping announced the impending launch of a new range of Anser woods last week, and it hasn’t taken long for their staffers to put them in the bag.
2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuizen is seemingly the first to make the switch. He took out his Ping Rapture V2 (10.5˚) and put in a 9.5˚ version of the brand’s first ever adjustable driver.
The South African used it at the WGC-Bridgestone and averaged a whopping 329 yards (9th best in the field), hitting 61 per cent of fairways (8th best), and eventually finishing alone in 4th.
The 29-year-old also changed his fairway woods. He took out his TaylorMade RocketBallz Tour 4 (16.5˚) and 5-wood (18˚) and put in his old Ping G5s (15 & 18˚).
