Jhared Hack was out for a knock with some pals in Las Vegas when he had a round he'll never forget
Sometimes you see a golf scorecard and you have to run your eyes across it quickly to make sure the numbers add up because surely – SURELY – they didn’t actually shoot that number?
That was the case when this scorecard from mini-tour player – and the aptly named – Jhared Hack fell into my WhatsApp inbox…
Hack opened his round birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie, birdie – which is always a decent start – before a solid par at the 6th. Then came two more birdies and another eagle for an front-nine 26.
The back nine featured five more birdies and a bogey on the par-3 17th which, inexplicably, included a three putt from six feet. Hack made that shot back with another birdie at 18 to come home in 31 for an jaw-dropping round of 57.
(I can already hear the club bombers who have never broken 90 in their life pointing out that “it was only 6,300 yards!”)
Of the round at Las Vegas Golf Club, Hack wrote on Twitter that he “made a lot of 10 to 15-footers and one 45-footer”.
When questioned, he pulled out the original card…
You’ve got to feel for playing partner Sean. Imagine shooting 69 and getting pumped by 12 shots.
Go again, Sean.
Maybe we could get Ryan Brooks – who went one better almost exactly a year ago – involved next time?
