Scott Oxley is the head teaching professional at Moor Allerton Golf club in Leeds. Here he shows us a very simple drill to help you avoid thinning chip shots around the green.

Scott places a ball a grips length in front of a club in order to make sure you hit down on the ball. This promotes a high to low swing path rather than a low to high path which results in thinning the ball.
Adopting this technique when approaching chip shots will result in much better results around the green. Give it a go the next time you are at the range.
