WITB: George Coetzee – 2018 Tshwane Open
George Coetzee relied on pretty much a full bag of Titleist equipment at he clinched his fourth European Tour win at the Tshwane Open.
It was the second time the Pretoria native had won his home event in front of friends and family – his first win here was back in 2015.
Coetzee is a Titleist staffer and has all the new woods, irons and wedges with the exception of a six-year-old utility iron.
He uses the 917 driver which was the number one model in play at Pretoria Country Club this week.
Coetzee uses the slightly more compact and lower spinning D3 model set to 10.5˚.

His fairway wood is also the 917 model set to 16.5˚ which we’d call a 4-wood in old money.
Then it’s a Titleist 712 U iron which we gues have now been replaced by the 718 TMB models which are a very popular long iron option for many tour players.

Coetzee’s irons are the Titleist 718 CB’s which he uses from 4-iron to pitching wedge.
The Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges have been the number one model on tour pretty much every week since they were launched towards the end of 2017.

So it’s no surprise to see Coetzee with three in his bag.
His only non-Titleist club is his Odyssey O-works 5 with a white insert and his ball of choice is the Titleist Pro V1x.
