We’ve got a few short weeks until St. Andrews, and the third Major of the season. With many of the big names not present at the Travelers Championship, there are a few faces still looking to gain that valuable invite to St. Andrews.

It’s worth having a look at the big names who have confirmed attendance at Le Golf National for big points as many will be looking to impress in the lead up to the Open next month.

With many of the European Tour’s biggest stars taking to the field with time running out before the Open gets underway, many will be wanting to place before St. Andrews.

With a new Fantasy Golf month about to begin it is well worth loading up on the big name European stars this week ahead of the international field at the third Major of the season.

Francesco Molinari seems to be flavour of the week, with many banking on the Italian to perform at French Open. The Italian does possess the attributes required to take a win at the event.

It’s definitely worth swapping out big money American players for low scoring placing Europeans this week if you are looking to move up that leaderboard.

It would be daft not to consider defending Champion Graeme McDowell who is available at 22/1 and looking for a hattrick of titles, having first won the title here in 2013. It comes as no surprise that McDowell is one of the favourites. It will still be a tough task for the Northern Irishman with such a strong field, who will all be looking for valuable placing ahead of St. Andrews.

A whole host of Ryder Cup stars will be in attendance, with many looking to get to know the course, which is set to host the next European iteration of the event in 2018.

McDowell’s Gleneagles teammates Thomas Bjorn, Jamie Donaldson, Victor Dubuisson, Stephen Gallacher, Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood will be present at the 99th edition of continental Europe’s oldest national Open.

After top 20 finish at the BMW International Open, Victor Dubuisson will be looking to become the first French winner of the event since Thomas Levet in 2011. He’s worth a look at 55/1.

Another home favourite, Alexander Levy is coming off the back of an impressive first US Open appearance where he finish tied-27th. Available at 33/1, was initially as short as 18/1 so it’s clear the bookies fancy his chances and may be worth a look.

Andy Sullivan has had a whirlwind season so far, performing well at almost all of the events he has appeared in. After what will be a disappointing showing at Chambers Bay for the Nuneaton-man, he will be looking to get back into the groove on European soil.

The bookies fancy the 29-year old, with rather short odds of 50/1. One to keep an eye on.
As always there is some great value picks the further down the list you go with our very own columnist Robert Rock available at 130/1. Romain Wattel is an enticing prospect at 70/1, with the young Frenchman still looking for that first European Tour win.
