Equipment news: Titleist remains #1 ball at the Masters

Titleist will maintain their record as the number one ball at the Masters this week

A host of Titleist Brand Ambassadors and Titleist golf ball loyalists will be teeing up with a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball on Thursday, continuing Titleist’s long-standing position as the #1 ball at the Masters.

Each Titleist golf ball loyalist will be looking to emulate the success of Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott (Pro V1), last years’ Masters Champion, and Bubba Watson (Pro V1x) who won his maiden Major championship at the event in 2012.

Their victories continue the success stories of Titleist golf balls at Major Championships, as they once again completed the clean sweep as the #1 golf ball of choice at each of the four Majors in 2013.

Last year also marked the 65th consecutive year that Titleist has been the golf ball of choice for the field at the US Open.

It was a similar story at the Open Championship, where Titleist continued its record as the golf ball of choice since records began.

It isn’t just the Majors where Titleist is the most trusted golf ball. So far on the 2014 worldwide professional tours, Titleist has continued to underline its position as the most trusted ball in golf, with 5,327 players choosing to put a Pro V1 or Pro V1x into play, compared to 816 for the nearest competitor.

Through Titleist’s strategy of having the best players in the world validate their products, this has resulted in a strong number of victories for Titleist golf ball loyalists, with the 2014 worldwide win count currently standing at 38 across professional tours, compared to seven for the nearest competitor.

There have also been some notable victories for Titleist Brand Ambassadors who will be searching for Major success at Augusta this week, including:

Jimmy Walker (Pro V1) who became the first three-time winner on the 2013-14 PGA Tour schedule;

– Zach Johnson (Pro V1x) a two-time winner in the 2014 PGA Tour season

– Matt Jones (Pro V1x), who earned the final invite to this year’s Masters Tournament in the most dramatic fashion by holing a 42-yard pitch shot in a playoff to take the title at the Shell Houston Open.
