Equipment: New Nike Vapor Fly irons video overview

The new Nike Vapor Fly irons have been created using the same RZN material as in their golf balls to help launch the ball higher and further.

The Vapor Fly and Vapor Pro irons both feature different technologies throughout the set to offer forgiveness in the longer irons with more feel and control in the shorter irons.

In the Vapor Fly there’s hollow cavities in the 4-7 irons, a RZN pocket in the 8-PW and RZN in the cavity of the gap and sand wedge for shot-making creativity.

The Vapor Fly irons uses lightweight RZN material which enables more mass to be concentrated lower and deeper for a higher ball flight.

A flexible face helps create more ball speeds right across the face making the Vaopr Fly irons very forgiving.

The both sets of irons have a darker finish than last year’s Vapor irons with this year’s Pro version being the darker of the two.
we’ve verified that if we can launch the ball higher while managing spin, it will ultimately fly farther” – Nate Radcliffe There’s a thicker top-line on the Vapor Fly irons but they are not overly chunky at all with much off the weight tucked away.

The sleeker Pro irons utilise the same technologies but have Hollow RZN cavities in the 2-5 irons, a RZN pocket in the 6-8 irons and a RZN cavity in the short irons.

“As we’ve learned more and more about golf athletes while researching advanced materials and evolving manufacturing technologies, we’ve verified that if we can launch the ball higher while managing spin, it will ultimately fly farther,” said Nate Radcliffe, Nike Golf Director of Engineering.

“We’ve found ways to accomplish that in our entire 2016 line, from the drivers to the long irons. We are using innovative designs that consider mass distribution, tuned compliance and stiffness to help the ball consistently fly high and long.”
