East Midlands: Extension plans at Morley Hayes
The driving range at Morley Hayes is set to be extended if council officials give plans the go ahead.
The designs submitted to Erewash Borough Council would see eight additional bays installed at the range, including better disabled access to allow wheelchair-users to use the range.
Also included in the plans are 18 more parking spaces and the enlargement of the golf shop.
The Allsop family purchased Morley Hayes in the 1980s, while the Morley Hayes Hotel was opened in 2005 by the Duke of Gloucester.
A planning statement explains the development would maintain the range’s reputation as the home of the East Midlands Golf Academy. A decision is expected by January 22.
