Driver test results: Ping G30 video review

If you want to get the ball in play more often, the G30 will give you the best chance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8869I531MUU First impressions: The G30 comes in three versions with an SF (straight flight) Tec and a LS (Low spinning) Tec alongside the standard version.

It seems like the G30 has been around for a while now with its launch last summer but it remains one of the most technologically advanced and successful drivers around.

The head looks relatively simple which has always been the Ping way. Performance comes first and razzmatazz a distant second.

The look at address inspires a huge amount of confidence.

What they say: Ping’s G30 drivers feature Turbulator Technology to improve the aerodynamics and increase distance.

Engineered on to the crown, the turbulators reduce aerodynamic drag by significantly delaying airflow separation, maintaining attached airflow around the clubhead as it approaches impact, leading to more speed.

To optimise launch angle and spin, golfers can add or subtract up to 1Ëš of loft using Trajectory Tuning+ Technology.

A high-balance-point TFC 419D shaft has a CG closer to the grip end, promoting a simultaneous increase in energy, momentum and inertia.

If you want to get the ball in play more often, the G30 will give you the best chance" NCG Verdict:  The G30 is louder and higher pitched than most drivers on test – a consequence presumably of a head shape that offers, for my money, better results on off-centre hits than any other driver we tested.

If you want to get the ball in play more often, the G30 will give you the best chance.

This was the most reliable driver I tested and it’s genuinely hard to fault unless you are highly demanding on looks.

Other drivers sound better but if you’re after a top-class performer which has both distance and forgiveness, the G30 simply has to be considered.
