How to control the spin with your wedges
Do you struggle with the spin on your wedges? Do you find yourself in between clubs and not sure what sort of shot to hit when you are inside 100 yards? Elite coach Dan Whittaker is on hand to give you some expert wedge tips and why it’s not always about the club you select.
So what do you do when you are, say, 74 yards away from the pin?
One of the main things Dan wants you to think about here is how much spin you will be generating with a higher lofted club. A 58-degree will need to be hit pretty hard and when that happens you will create a lot more spin.
The way you set up is also key. Matching your arms with your body during the transition is something you need to get right.
Watch the full video below for more detail on what your set up should be and what club would be best suited for this kind of shot.
