Luxury resort Lumine in the Spanish region of Costa Daurada welcomed industry professionals from around the world last week for the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM).
The event took place from November 11-14 and was the 16th edition of the premier golf travel show.
The Lumine resort is co-managed by Costa Daurada and Troon, and the 4,000-person PortAventura Convention Centre proved the perfect base for the show to take place in.
Peter Walton, chief executive of event partner IAGTO commented, “There are clusters of top quality golf courses in Costa Daurada that people did not know about, but they will now. The product is perfect for the avid golfing market and with a considerable capacity for growth; it is in the perfect situation.”
The Troon-managed Lumine resort has attracted many top class events such as European Tour Qualifying School and the PGA of Europe Fourball Championship “Costa Daurada was privileged to have the opportunity to host such a significant event and our selection as host venue for the 16th IGTM underlines our position as a leading golf and leisure destination,” said Josep Poblet, President of the Diputació de Tarragona.
The Troon-managed Lumine resort has attracted many top class events such as European Tour Qualifying School and the PGA of Europe Fourball Championship, and it will host the Nordea Tour’s inaugural Winter Series in 2014.
Neil Adams, Quality Golf Destinations commented, “Experiencing the region first hand has filled me with confidence in everything the Costa Daurada has to offer visitors. The golf courses and climate combined with the unique Catalan cuisine and various hotel options make this a destination a fantastic option for families, couples and business travellers.”
