Vibrant new Cobra woods
Cobra’s new fairway woods and hybrids feature a vibrant new orange and silver colour scheme and plenty of technology designed to make them easy to use and full of distance.
The AMP fairways feature a large profile for increased moment of inertia (resistance to twisting – a measure of forgiveness on mis-hits) and E9 face technology, which changes the shape of the sweet spot to cater for strikes low in the heel and high in the toe. Cobra research suggests this is the most common miss for amateurs.
This is combined with adjustable technology and a thin face for ball flight optimisation and distance.
The hybrids have a small, pear-shaped head for a workable flight and a high-strength face that promotes a powerful, boring flight. The hybrid is also adjustable.
E9 face technology changes the shape of the sweet spot to cater for strikes low in the heel and high in the toe – where most amateurs miss. “The AMP fairways and hybrids were designed for all golfers seeking distance and accuracy,” said Tom Preece, Cobra’s R&D head.
“We’ve improved the construction with a 455 high strength steel face that has over 1.5 times the yield strength of the 17-4 stainless steel body, resulting in a lighter, hotter face.”
