What happened at the CIMB Classic?
After a five-year wait to win his second PGA Tour title, Marc Leishman has now won three in 18 months.
Leishman began the day in a three-way tie for the lead alongside Gary Woodland and Shubhankar Sharma, but the Australian carded four birdies on the bounce from the 2nd to peel away.
From there it was a procession.
Further gains came at 9, 10, 16 and 18, with a solitary bogey at the 13th for a final-round 65 and a five-shot victory and his fourth PGA Tour win.
Justin Thomas, the star name in the field, shot a round-of-the-day 64, but it was only enough to lift him into a tie for 5th – six shots behind Leishman and one behind the trio of Emiliano Grillo, Chesson Hadley and Bronson Burgoon all tied for 2nd.
Overnight co-leaders Woodland and Shankar carded final rounds of 71 and 72 respectively to drop back into a tie for 5th and 10th.
Pat Perez’s title defence wilted away. A final-round 74 left the American 22 shots off the pace at 4-under.
