Bronte Law lashes out at Georgia Hall and Charley Hull over LPGA snub

The Englishwoman was not happy with her compatriots after they dropped out of representing their country at the International Crown

It’s safe to say Bronte Law is not happy that Georgia Hall and Charley Hull have bailed from the England team for this week’s International Crown.

Hall and Hull were due to join Law and Jodi Ewart-Shadoff for the LPGA team event in San Francisco, but pulled out at the last minute and replaced by Alice Hewson and Liz Young.

“Sunday,” Ewart-Shadoff replied when asked when they’d had the heads up that Hall and Hull weren’t going to play.

Law added: “Yeah, Sunday, so quite late. But [we’re] very happy to have both Alice and Liz here. They’re both very patriotic, very team oriented, and I think that’s a testament to what this tournament is about and is more important than the individuals in the team.

“[We’re] really happy to have them both here, and I know they’ll fight with everything they’ve got.”

When asked how they had found out, Law added: “Through whispers. [We] didn’t get any sort of message from the two that [they had] decided not to play – [we’re] very disappointed about that.

“Anyone with some level of decency would send their team-mates a message that they weren’t coming, not find out from the other players on Tour who have heard things from them saying things at the tournament last week.

“But it’s beside the point now. We’re here, and this is our team, and this is Team England.”

Well, that should make the Solheim Cup a bit more interesting…
