AT&T Byron Nelson betting tips: Each-way selections
Rory Sabbatini (50/1 with bet365) is a player who has started to hit form. He’s someone I backed during the RBC Heritage at 150/1 but he narrowly missed out on placing inside the top 8.
The Slovakian hasn’t missed a cut since the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the start of February and heads to Texas with a top 10 and a top 20 in his last two starts.
Another player to look out for is 22-year-old Scottie Scheffler (60/1), who has finished inside the top 10 in his last four Web.com Tour events.
He currently averages over 310 yards off the tee and just under 70% in driving accuracy, which could prove to be vital on a layout where the wide fairways give a huge advantage to the big hitters.
The Dallas native produced a top 20 at the Valero Texas Open. Can he transfer his form to the PGA Tour once again and perform on home soil?
Length off the tee is something Kevin Tway (80/1) has in abundance.
Like Scheffler, the American will benefit from the wide fairways at Trinity Forest and hopefully take advantage of the large landing areas on offer.
Tway isn’t in tremendous form but is known to be streaky and can find a good finish out of nowhere. He comes into the event in similar form to last year, where he finished in the top 10.
So that’s the each-way contenders sorted. But who does Matthew think is likely to lift the trophy? Turn the page to find out his top AT&T Byron Nelson betting tips…
Matthew Beedle
Matthew has been playing golf since he was around 13 and took up the game at a local nine-hole municipal course with his friends before joining Pontefract & District Golf Club just over the hedge.
Still a member of Pontefract with a handicap of 3, he currently sits on the board of directors to help with digital and marketing initiatives in order to improve membership and visitor income.
Matthew graduated university with a First Class in Sports Journalism from Leeds Trinity University and has been working in the golf industry since graduating.
NCG’s social media & marketing manager, Matthew’s main job role is to increase website traffic to the National Club Golfer website via our email and social media channels as well as driving entries to grow our NCG Top 100s Tour events amongst other tasks.
Not one to change his equipment too often, Matthew currently plays the TaylorMade M2 driver which has lasted the test of time in his bag. Elsewhere, you’ll find him using the TaylorMade Stealth 2 three-wood with a Ping G425 Crossover 2-iron to aid his long game.
Through his 4-iron to Gap Wedge, Matthew uses the Ping i500 irons accompanied by Ping’s Glide 3.0 56-degree and 60-degree wedges.
Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
