Find out all you need to know about the 12th Presidents Cup from Liberty National...

While the US have struggled in recent Ryder Cups, that has not been the case in the US vs. the rest of the world alternative – and the 2017 Presidents Cup shouldn’t be any different.

Since the tournament was established in 1994, the USA have won a whopping nine times out of a possible 11 against the International Team.

The latest victory in 2015 at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in South Korea was a tight contest, ending in a 15.5-14.5 victory for the visitors.

The 2017 instalment is back on American soil and it would be folly to bet against another triumph for the US.

What is the Presidents Cup?

The Presidents Cup is a biennial men’s competition between the United States and an International team, representing the rest of the world minus Europe.

It takes place every two years and the venue alternates between courses in America and the rest of the world.

There are 12 players on each team, with 10 players automatically qualifying for the International team based on standings in the Official World Golf Ranking as of September 4, 2017.

The captain will name two wildcards on September 6, 2017.

Meanwhile, the top 10 US PGA Tour members who have earned the most FedExCup points from September 15, 2015 through to September 4, 2017 automatically qualify. Again, the captain receives two picks.
