Villa Padierna Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts

Three Stunning Courses

Villa Padierna is the proud host of three golf courses, with two of those having championship status. The Flamingos has hosted the European Senior Tour and the Ladies European Tour, with the LET also staging an event on the Alferini course at one point. The Tramores is the only executive course on the Costa Del Sol, and is a short, par-63.

Flamingos
The Flamingos Course is the most well known of the three courses at Villa Padierna. Flamingos Golf played host to the European Senior Tour in 2002, 2003 and 2004 as well as the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2010.

Keep the ball left on the opening two holes, as the lake runs down the right side of both the opening par-5 and par-3. The 2nd measures at more than 205 yards from the back tees, making it a stunning par-3. The water comes back into play on the opening hole of the back nine, this time on the left side. It isn’t finished there. The short 16th and then the closing hole both offer opportunities to drop shots with a misplaced shot into the drink.

Alferini
Alferini Golf is the most challenging of the three courses of Villa Padierna, and by far the longest. Measuring at more than 7,250 yards from the tips, the Alferini is a test of power and accuracy for golfers of all abilities due to the range of tees available.

After a couple of tough opening holes, the par-3 measures at 243 yards from the back tees, and it’s a narrow landing area at the green. The 8th also measures more than 220, and has a gorgeous lake in front to swallow up any shot that doesn’t have enough on it.

After back-to-back par-5s, the par-3 14th is the course’s signature hole. Water right, trees left, at almost 200 yards from the back, it’s a tricky tee shot for sure. The view from the 18th tee is one of the best in the region, with views out over the Costa Del Sol. Don’t let it distract you from what is a tough closing hole.

Tramores
The Tramores is the third 18-hole golf course at Villa Padierna. It is an executive course, which provides a different twist on the game compared to its bigger brothers. Despite being shorter, it still requires accuracy off the tee, while allowing golfers to use the deceptive greens to hone their short games and putting.

Just a par-63, There is only the one par-5 on the Tramores. The course plays host to a run of seven consecutive par-3s on the back, ranging from 85 yards, all the way up to 145 yards. Although a short course, the Tramores is a great little track.

Villa Padierna Golf Academy

Along with 54 holes of golf, Villa Padierna is also the home to one of the most comprehensive practice facilities in the Costa del Sol. The driving range can be used year round thanks to the mix of both grass and matted tees for golfers to play from.

There are a number of targets at different distances for golfers to practise their long approach play, while the short game area at Villa Padierna offers players the chance to hone their skills at putting, chipping and bunker play.
