Royal Cromer

Spectacular scenery, a rich history and top-class seaside golf all combine to make Royal Cromer an unforgettable experience. Perched on a clifftop overlooking the North Sea, this historic masterpiece is one of the finest courses on the Norfolk coast. Founded in 1888, the club attained royal status through the patronage of the Prince of Wales, later to become King Edward VII.

Some of the game’s greatest architects have left their mark on Royal Cromer, including James Braid, JH Taylor and Old Tom Morris. But they aren’t the only famous names to be associated with Royal Cromer. Alfred Lord Tennyson, Herbert Henry Asquith and Oscar Wilde have all graced its fairways.

Gorse and bracken, sandy hills and a bracing wind are your main obstacles. The 14th is worth coming for alone thanks to the fully operational lighthouse standing majestically next to the green.
