Tewkesbury Park Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts

The Deerpark Course

Set in undulating parkland in beautiful rural Gloucestershire, the 6,554-yard, Par 72 Deerpark course offers panoramic views, water features, cross-cut fairways, veteran oaks, and manicured greens. The beauty of the course is complemented by views of the Cotswolds, the Malverns, rolling countryside, and Tewkesbury’s Norman Abbey. There's a reason we call it a "mini-Gleneagles".

The 18-hole layout at Tewkesbury Park begins with a dog-leg left par 5, with two of the hardest holes on the course coming at you early. The 3rd is a 480-yard par 4 which runs parallel to the River Severn, while the 4th is the hardest hole on the scorecard. At 425 yards from the tips, it is not the longest par 4 in the world, but the hole narrows as you get towards the green, with plenty of trees and sand awaiting any errant approach shot. The 5th follows and is the first par 3 on the card. It is less than 150 yards from the tips, but plays over water and with bunkers either side of the green.

The 14th should be a birdie opportunity as long as you get your drive past the large oak tree which stands in the middle of the fairway. The closing hole of the Deerpark Course is a drivable par 4. At just 265 yards from the tips, most will fancy their chances of being able to reach. However, with the hotel and croquet lawn to the left of the green and plenty of other trouble around, it might be a safe idea to take a long iron and lay up in the middle of the fairway.
