What it’s like?
Haydock Park can be found within a mile of the famous racecourse. Designed by James Braid and a shade over 6,000 yards, the prime defences here are the small, well-protected greens and the trees that line the fairways.
Haydock has an impressive quintet of par 3s. At one extreme is the 4th, little over 100 yards but with five bunkers and a slope just behind the green. By contrast the last is 190 yards and demands a solid tee shot.
