Its geographical location provides a stunning setting for three championship golf courses, all of which wind their way through the natural habitat brilliantly. Renowned golf course architect Cabell Robinson has done a terrific job with the three courses, creating a testing and exhilarating experience.

There are weekly tournaments and friendly matches, with beginners and experienced players all feeling welcome. The resort is also home to La Cala Spa, which has a range of treatments, massages and therapies, including one of the best hydrothermal circuits in Spain.

La Cala Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts

Three Championship Courses

La Cala is the home to three superb championship courses, each presenting its own unique challenges. The three slot seamlessly into a natural undulating backdrop of stunningly beautiful trees and flowers, rich with birds and wildlife. Designed by the renowned Cabell Robinson, each 18-hole course has been created to ensure a testing, yet truly exhilarating experience.

Campo America
Campo America, formerly known as the North Course, is a stunning place to play golf, and one of the three glorious courses at La Cala. There are amazing views of the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea while playing Campo America.

The course has wide but undulating fairways, allowing players to attack with driver on a lot of holes. However, with small, raised greens, accurate approach shots are required. There are just a couple of water hazards on the course, coming into play at both the 9th and 16th.

Campo Asia
Formerly known as the South Course, the Campo Asia is the oldest of the three golf courses at La Cala. The course is much narrower than the Campo America, with accuracy from the tee being the key to a good score.

The back-to-back par-5s at the turn, holes 9 and 10, offer good scoring opportunities. The 9th is a hole that just continues to turn right, from tee to fairway, and then from fairway to green. The back nine starts with another par-5, which also has a dog-leg, with the green sitting in front of some of the properties on the resort.

Campo Europa
The Campo Europa is the newest of the three courses at La Cala, and it is arguably the easiest of the three thanks to its generous fairways and flatter terrain.

There are a number of bridges over the River Ojen, which winds its way through the course at several points. Water hazards also guard both the 3rd and 14th greens. The 14th is one of the longest par-3s in the world, measuring more than 250 yards from the back tees.

La Cala Golf Academy

Along with the three championship golf courses, the La Cala Resort is also the proud home to the La Cala Golf Academy. There is a state of the art driving range, as well as a short game area which features putting, chipping and bunker facilities.

The La Cala Golf Academy is also the home to a six-hole par-3 course which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The par-3 course is the perfect place for beginners to learn about the nuances of the game, and in particular, around the greens.

There is also a team of PGA-qualified professionals on hand at La Cala Golf Academy who are ready to coach players of all ages and abilities. There are a variety of tuition programs, including on-course lessons to teach course management.

La Cala Hotel

The La Cala Hotel is the centrepiece of the resort, and provides a stunning range of accommodation, which is designed to accommodate guests from all walks of life.

There is a range of rooms available at La Cala, with the Classic Room being the standard. Each Classic Room is designed to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep, and comes with an en suite bathroom and its own private balcony or terrace.

The Superior Rooms are light, generously proportioned and furnished with restrained grace, to be both spacious and supremely comfortable. These are larger than the Classic Rooms, while the Family Rooms are generous in size, and each is tastefully decorated in an Andalusian style. Each of the Family Rooms has two separate areas, and are designed for a comfortable stay at La Cala.

La Cala Spa

The La Cala Hotel is also the home to the La Cala Spa, which is full of natural light and welcomes guests in to relax. The spa is the home to one of the most complete hydrotherapy circuits.

La Cala Sports Club
