Wokefield Estate Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts

Championship Golf

The De Vere Wokefield Estate is home to a championship golf course. The 18-hole layout has been cleverly designed into two loops of nine, with the front nine at the northern side of the venue, while the back nine takes the land from the southern side of the venue. The Par 72 course runs just shy of 7,000 yards from the tips and offers golfers of all abilities a true test of their games.

Water comes into play on many holes at Wokefield Estate, and it is not the only hazard to keep an eye out for. There are some quirky bunkers, placed strategically throughout the course, along with the odd tree that you might find yourself behind at any point.

After a gentle opening hole, longer hitters might be tempted to open their shoulders and go for the green on the par 4 2nd. It is 332 yards, but there is a huge bunker in front of the green, which is at least 50 yards long. The safe play is to lay up and have a wedge into the green from a good angle. The 4th sees the water for the first time, coming into play at the edge of driving distance. 6 and 9 both also feature water, with the latter bringing the front nine to a close with a bang. At 476 yards, it is the longest par 4 and it is a dog-leg right around a water hazard.

10, 11 and 13 are also par 4s over 400 yards in length, while the 12th is the signature hole on the course. A beautiful par 3, golfers have to play over water to find the green, which is also guarded by two bunkers. The 14th is the longest hole on the property, maxing out at 600 yards from the tips, and it plays as a true three-shotter around water. The closing hole at Wokefield Estate is also a par 5, bringing you back to the clubhouse. At 535 yards, it is reachable in two for longer hitters, but there are five bunkers by the green to catch anything short or errant.
