Linden Hall Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts

Championship Golf in the Northeast

Linden Hall is home to a Championship Course, which has played host to the PGA EuroPro Tour in its history. Highly regarded course architect Jonathan Gaunt was the man behind the layout, which is a parkland course, and one that offers up undulating greens and fairways, so you seemingly never have a flat lie.

The course, which opened in 1997, has four challenging par 3s and four par 5s which offer a variety of challenges. At 6,850 yards from the back tees, the course plays long, but golfers do get to enjoy the views of the Cheviots, Coquet Island, and the Northumberland coastline.

The 18-hole layout features plenty of water hazards, with water coming into play on half of the holes. It first appears on the left side of the 2nd and then properly comes into view on the 4th. The first par 3 on the course features no bunkers, but water blocks the route from tee to green. The 8th is a drivable par 4 at just 290 yards from the back tees, but six bunkers take up a lot of space, and are there for anything errant.

10 is the hardest hole on the course, a dog-leg right with three bunkers ready to take wayward drives, before two more greenside bunkers lie in wait. The green is also surrounded by trees. The 13th is a classic risk-and-reward par 5, with longer hitters looking at going for the green in two. However, with a stream running in a U-shape in front of and around both sides of the green, anything slightly awry will find water. The closing hole at Linden Hall also features water. At 430 yards, it is a lengthy par 4, with a water feature on the right side of the fairway. The green is slightly elevated with bunkers on either side. Come away with par on the last and enjoy a drink!

The latter offers typical British pub food in a relaxed environment, while the Dobson offers a fine dining experience for guests. The Monck Cocktail Bar is the best place to enjoy a drink at night, while Afternoon Tea is also available for visitors to the venue.
