Adare Manor Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts

Ryder Cup Venue

In recent years, Tom Fazio has taken the original Robert Trent Jones Sr design and sprinkled his own magic on it to make it the gem that it is today. The thick rough that once surrounded the Adare fairways has now been mown down, and there are only 42 bunkers on the course. 14 of the 18 holes feature water hazards, with the River Maigue winding its way around the property.

Fazio’s remodeling of the course means that Adare Manor is now all about the greens and their surrounds. The premium on accurate approach shots cannot be overestimated. Miss the greens at Adare and you will face tricky chips and pitch shots. The green surfaces are slick and undulating, so even if you do find the dance floor, it will no doubt be a difficult putt.

Both nines finish with a lengthy par 5. The 9th hole at Adare Manor is the longest on the property, measuring more than 630 yards from the back tees. Find the fairway with the tee shot and you have a chance at making the green in three, but the edges are the green are not visible, making it a tricky surface to find with an approach shot.

The closing hole at Adare Manor is the signature hole, with the Manor House setting the backdrop to the green. It is a classic Robert Trent Jones Sr risk-and-reward par 5. The River Maigue guards the left side of the fairway off the tee, so make sure to keep your drive right. Players are then left with a decision – cross the river with the second shot or stay right of it? If you stay right, then the third shot becomes very tricky. If you have the distance, then cross the river as it will make the third shot much easier, playing up the green.

The Manor House

The Manor House is stunning, with gracefully furnished rooms and manicured grounds. The hotel has a 24-hour concierge service and in-room dining, along with valet service. The range of rooms at the Manor House is incredible.

Even the Classic Rooms, the smallest of the options at Adare Manor, are filled with luxury. They come with a king-sized bed, marble-walled bathroom, and views of either the woodlands, River Maigue or the golf course. There are Deluxe Rooms, Staterooms, Suites, and Signature Suites, while the Manor Lodges and the Manor Cottages provide that extra bit of privacy for larger groups.

There are also plenty of options when it comes to dining and gastronomy at Adare Manor. The Oak Room serves exquisite seven-course fine dining experiences while the more homely Drawing Room is more relaxed. The Tack Room is a super-cool bar for late drinks and cocktails. Afternoon tea is simply an essential experience, taken in The Gallery, where the best breakfast you have ever had is also laid on.

The Padel Club & Activities

The latest addition to the Adare Manor portfolio is the brand new, state-of-the-art Padel Club. The two indoor Padel courts, which have been custom-built, and are the first of their kind in the country, give the building its name. That is certainly not all the Padel Club has to offer, though.

There is an innovative Sports Simulation Room, where guests can try their hand at a range of sports, including footgolf and baseball. There is also the ability for guests to have golf lessons and enjoy some putting practice in the facility. The Pade Club also features a swimming pool, along with a sauna, steam room and a fully equipped gym.

The Padel Club is just part of what guests can enjoy at Adare Manor, with a wide array of other activities also on offer. Cycling, horse riding, archery, fishing, and falconry are just some of the things that are on offer for those that like the outdoors. There is also an Irish gundog experience, along with woodland walks and clay pigeon shooting. Fancy something slightly more chilled out? There is also the opportunity to enjoy wine and whisky tasting sessions at Adare Manor, along with picnics, historical tours of the building and of course, the spa...

The Spa at Adare Manor

The Spa at Adare Manor provides the perfect place for guests to relax and unwind. The Spa is proud to be the first Irish venue to offer customised treatments with 111SPA/CLINIC products. There is a relaxation pool for guests of The Spa, along with a new relaxation room, while guests are also invited to enjoy one of the many massages or treatments that are on offer.
