How to hit out of a fairway bunker: The main points
First things first, a bunker is an unforgiving place so a clean strike is essential. To give yourself the best chance, it’s vital that you make some adjustments to your pre-swing fundamentals.
Moving the ball position forward in your stance will allow you to hit it on the up and ensure you’re not digging into the sand. As well as this, shifting your weight slightly onto your heels will further encourage that shallow contact.
