All the Gear: Jordan Spieth switches Scotty Cameron putters

Will Jordan Spieth's putter change give golfers the chance to blame their flatstick after a poor medal? James Savage rounds up the latest equipment news

When Jordan Spieth – arguably the best putter on the planet – switches putters everyone should sit up and take notice.

We all love to blame a bad putting performance on the putter and it’s great to see that Spieth is no different to the rest of us.

The two-time major winner had been using the Scotty Cameron 009 Prototype blade for a long time but said he was struggling with his alignment at the Players Championship.

So Spieth has turned to a larger Scotty Cameron mallet in the shape of the T5W which has dual alignment aids to help frame the ball better.

Feel free to blame your own flatstick if you have a stinker in the monthly medal. I know I will.

Meanwhile, here’s a round up of some of the new releases you may have missed over the past week…

The Players 5 StaDry offers the same performance features as the Players 5 but with advanced StaDry waterproof technology, featuring a high performance waterproof seam-sealed construction. Available in three colour combinations.

The new Players 14 stand bag features a full-length divider for maximum club protection and a 3-way handle surrounding the 14-way top-cuff. Available in two colour combinations.
