Monmouth Golf Club is a picturesque 18 hole, par 69 course which was founded in 1896, complete with deer, pheasants and other wildlife. Until 1992, it was a 9 hole course – at that time it was extended to 18 holes and a new clubhouse built.Originally a nine hole course, Monmouth was extended to 18 holes in 1992. In that year, also, the “new” clubhouse was opened, offering a most comfortable location for a drink or a meal with magnificent views of the course and the surrounding countryside.Claiming to be the prettiest golf course in Wales, Monmouth Golf Club stands on high ground above the town with superb views towards the Welsh hills, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.The undulating parkland course, splendidly maintained throughout the year by greenkeeper Lee Williams and and his assistants, is 5582 yards off the white tees, 5507 off yellow (par 69, SSS 67) and 5118 off the Ladies’ tees ( par 72, SSS 72 ).Each aptly named hole offers a different challenge and names such as “ Cannes Folly” , “Kymin View”, “ The Oasis “, “ The Struggle” , “ Cresta Our friendly and welcoming staff offer full catering and bar facilities in the clubhouse, which boasts stunning views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Monmouth Golf Club is well known for the friendly welcome offered to visitors by members and staff alike.
