Only a short drive from Scotland’s central belt, you will find Aberfeldy Golf Club.

It is a beautiful parkland course in the heart of Highland Perthshire.

Unlike many golf courses in the area, players can join Aberfeldy without having to pay a joining fee. That is a bonus for those looking to become a member at this exquisite Perthshire club.

The original 9-hole course ran along the south side of the River Tay, and was initially laid on what was then known as The Cour – grazing ground for cattle.

Sir Neil Menzies began negotiations to make the course on the north side of the river from 1907, but failed in his attempts.

After another bid to extend the course by lady members in 1908 failed, a long wait was faced until in 1991 the Weem Cow Park was purchased by the club.

At this point a footbridge was built to join the north and south side portions of the course across the River Tay, becoming the 18 holes that are played today.

Players can take advantage of the 18 hole putting green, a short walk from the clubhouse, a great way to warm up prior to a round of this challenging course.

The course also includes a full size tennis courts, giving players a wide range of activities to keep them occupied.
