Former Premier League footballer 'not allowed' at Sunningdale again

Jimmy Bullard isn’t allowed at Sunningdale Golf Club anymore.

The ex-Premier League midfielder said he got “carried away” and teed a ball up with a Peroni beer bottle and hit it off the top.

Bullard told snooker legend Stephen Hendry on the ‘Cue Tips‘ YouTube show that Sunningdale is the best course he has played and he was sorry for his antics.

“I’m not allowed to go again – I know you’re a member,” he said.

“I would like to take this opportunity, if there are any Sunningdale members watching, I do apologise. I really want to come back to your golf course.

“I got carried away. I had a few drinks. I put a Peroni on the 1st tee and I clipped a ball off of it and obviously, it’s not the thing to do.

“So I apologise and I apologise to you (Hendry) as it’s your golf course.”

Bullard then joked he “ripped” the shot 280 yards down the middle at the venue which has hosted three Senior Open Championships, four Women’s Opens and four British Masters renewals.

The golf club’s membership comes in at a reported figure of £92,000 with two courses on offer: the Old and the New respectively designed by Willie Park Jnr and Harry Colt.

The 45-year-old played for Wigan, Fulham and Hull in the top division and was chosen in the England squad to play in two World Cup qualifiers in 2008, but wasn’t used.

You can now find him as a regular guest on the Tubes and Ange YouTube golf channel featuring Peter ‘Tubes’ Dale, formerly of television’s Soccer AM.
