Why Tiger was particularly missed at Erin Hills on Friday
People were getting emotional about the absence of the GOAT – and with good reason…
In case you didn’t know it was nine years to the day on Friday since Tiger Woods wrapped up his last major win at Torrey Pines.
And, people started to remember just how much they really missed the GOAT:
"Expect anything different!"

If you're a true golf fan, and don't miss this Tiger, idk what is wrong with you. Nothing like that black and red on a Sunday charge https://t.co/A6hHMC4tCZ

Just a reminder of Tiger's greatness, as a pro, he didn't miss a cut in a major from his win at Augusta in '97 until Winged Foot in '06

Sitting here watching the US Open and contemplating how on Earth @TigerWoods held all 4 majors at once… ??

I miss Tiger. A guy you rooted for was always in contention, and wasnt taking near last place in any tournament. #Holdingoutfor17Majors

4-year-old on the couch "When is Tiger Woods going to hit?"
"Gonna be a little bit, son."

Watching Rory and Day, it's just remarkable how Tiger didn't miss a major cut until 2006 and went 142 tournaments in a row making the cut

A fit and focused @TigerWoods would still batter this field. None of them excite me like the big cat did ??

This is apparently not too far from the US Open gates. And I think the answer is: Atop your '90s van, weirdo. (via Reddit) pic.twitter.com/JlyeBHmmfp

NO YOU HAVE SOMETHING IN YOUR EYE.
Anyway, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day missed the cut and as ever, the internet didn’t forget the Northern Irishman’s comments earlier in the week.
If you can't hit 60yds wide fairways, you might as well go home. Never a truer word spoken by @McIlroyRory who is going home. #USOpengolf

Rory McIlroy not only can't win without his A-game, he does't seem to have a B-game. Or C. He goes right to D. 4 major wins and now 7 MCs.
