All the Gear: Do Paul Casey and Brooks Koepka have the best equipment?
Equipment editor James Savage rounds up the gear news from round two of the US Open
What do Paul Casey and Brooks Koepka have in common? Quite a lot actually.
They are both former Nike staff players who now play pretty much whatever equipment they like.
And they’ve both gone for TaylorMade woods, Mizuno irons, Titleist Vokey SM6 wedges and a Scotty Cameron putter.
And they are both going great guns at the US Open – each looking for their maiden major title. A coincidence? Probably, but I’m not surprised by any of their equipment choices – I’d be making pretty much the same ones if I was a free agent.

Casey uses a 2017 M2 driver and M1 fairways, MP-25 and MP-5 irons while Koepka uses a 2016 M2 driver and JPX900 Tour irons.
Rickie Fowler’s wardrobe comes of age
Remember when Rickie Fowler used to dress like this?
How things have changed. You can still see the odd splash of orange on a Sunday but in general Fowler looks pretty classy these days in his Puma gear.
This navy polo and white trouser combo shows that Fowler’s look is maturing along with his golf game.
Louis Oosthuizen makes drastic gear change
The 2010 Open champion got his set-up all wrong at Erin Hills. But he was big enough to realise he’d made a mistake.
The Bigfoot beard was never going to make life easier in the Wisconsin sun. And it was given the chop after round one.
My game feels ok so let's see what the weekend brings. It was too hot yesterday so the beard had to go! pic.twitter.com/9OLnmDqTby

The result? A four-shot swing in favour of the clean shave in round two – enough to see him make the cut. The CUT… He made the CUT after he CUT his beard off!
Oh forget it.
Wesley Bryan shows off his Taco Belt
I’m on fire. Wesley Bryan famously celebrated his first PGA Tour win with a trip to Taco Bell. Who wouldn’t?

And I doubt the former trick shot star is strapped for cash after securing a sponsorship deal with his favourite fast food restaurant.
Check out my new belts!

But he wont be buckling himself in for the weekend at the 2017 US Open after finishing his first two rounds 15 over par.
Johnny ‘long socks’ McLaren excels himself at Erin Hills
John McLaren, caddie for Paul Casey, has literally made a name for himself for having silly socks.
Luke Donald’s former bagman paid tribute to Chicago Bulls basketball star Jimmy Butler. Why? I have absolutely no idea. Please post a comment below or tweet me @JamesSavageNCG if you can shed any light on the situation…
