The Shack has gone on tour to the scenic surroundings of the seaside. The Pro talks to you today about how to play a bunker shot from plugged lie.
The plugged lie is arguably one of the hardest shots to hit out of the bunker, but if you follow these basic points you’ll get out of the bunker everytime.
The easiest way to play this shot is to plant your feet so you have a stable base. Make sure your hands are in front of the ball. This is the most important part of the drill as it allows you to dig into the back of the ball. (The Pro)
You will notice the club face start to close which is exactly what you want if you want the ball to run out low to the back of the green.
The Pro talks you through what to do if you want the ball to pop up.
Don’t be scared to open the club face if you want the ball to have a bit of height at release. Just make sure you don’t neglect the steepness at impact. Keep those hands in front of the ball at all times.
So remember;
- Keep your hands forward
- Have a steep angle of attack
