Practising with one hand can help you improve your chipping dramatically…
Scott Oxley is the head teaching professional at Moor Allerton Golf club in Leeds. Here he shows us a very simple drill with one hand to help you improve your chipping.
Scott tells us that if you stick to the technique of having the hands way in front of the ball, often you can jar the club into the ground before making contact with the ball.
A drill to practice would be to move the ball a little further forward in the stance and get the sensation of the club head releasing after impact. Hold you arm and get the feeling of the club head catching you up rather than getting your hands too far in front.
This will result in better strikes and the ball reacting more consistently on the green.
