World of Golf installs ball-tracking technology
Ball-tracking technology is now available in 20 bays of the World of Golf driving range.
Golfers at the range in New Malden, South-West London now have access to ˜Protracer’, which allows them to track their ball flight in real-time.
Protracer was originally designed to enhance the TV-viewing experience by tracking the flight path of golf shots, the yardage and the distance the ball ends from the target.
The technology has been used in broadcast for major golfing events around the world including The Open Championship, PGA Championship, US Open and the Ryder Cup.

Using the brand new tablet devices set-up especially for Protracer, players at World of Golf can use the range feature to calculate the distance of every club in the bag or play a points game to play against friends.
We’ve seen here today what a buzz Protracer has caused, everyone enjoyed playing the game and it allows golfers to compete against each other on the range in a fun competitive environment, said World of Golf CEO, Grant Wright.
We have ˜The Protracer Beat The Pro Challenge’ ongoing from today and there will also be daily, weekly and monthly prizes up for grabs.
The new technology of Protracer will encourage golfers of all ability from beginners to seasoned pros to come down and try it.
