East Midlands: Blue Skype thinking at LindrickFebruary 18, 2015 Golf Equipment

The home of the 1957 Ryder Cup, Lindrick in Nottinghamshire, has taken an innovative approach to allow members to view course conditions before they even leave home.
The club is currently undertaking a major renovation project and has shown further forward thinking by installing a fixed web cam, overlooking the first tee.
Men’s captain Max Brigham said: “The weather at the club can be very different from only five miles away. We have members who travel over an hour to get here and on wintery mornings they sometimes have to set off very early in blind faith and optimism that the course will be open.”
Lindrick normally plays well in the winter and has a record of remaining playable, said Brigham. He added: “With our new addition, members and visitors can have a look at the live picture on the web site before making the decision to make an early trip or to leave it a few hours while things warm up.
“We all have very busy schedules so this just makes life a lot easier for us all to arrange our lives around golf.”
