Lindrick has announced the first phase of enhancements at the South Yorkshire club.
The former Ryder Cup host is being advised by Ken Moodie and Creative Golf and the club will be adding three new tees, eight additional bunkers and strategically positioned fairway mounds.
Overall there will be changes to seven holes and club professional John King said: “The course improvements will add some extra playing interest and challenge for the better golfer and are designed to enhance the fine natural characteristics of Lindrick.”
‘The improvements are designed to enhance the natural characteristics of Lindrick’ The works will commence in February 2015 and Moodie, who has experience of enhancing traditional courses, said: “The course improvements will add some extra playing interest and challenge for the better golfer and are designed to enhance the fine natural characteristics of Lindrick.”
This is the latest stage of an extensive enhancement programme at the club. Last year a second pedestrian tunnel was opened to ensure golfers no longer encounter any road crossing with a total expenditure of over £1m. A new driving range and short game area has also been introduced together with a state of the art irrigation system, while work on the new changing rooms will be completed in January.
