Callaway launch super-fast XR and XR Pro drivers

Following on from the successful X Hot range, meet XR - Callaway's fastest driver yet

Callaway have introduced the XR and XR Pro drivers, taking inspiration from the racing world to become the company’s fastest drivers to date.

Building on the huge success of the X2 Hot range, which saw the brand claim impressive market shares in both Europe and the USA, XR takes speed to another level.

The extra speed comes from an aerodynamic crown, an R.Moro face, shaft load and a lot more.

XR Pro aims to offer the better player a perfect balance of speed with forgiveness with low spin through multi material construction and even more speed in an enhanced aerodynamic head shape.

The company say they have traveled down a new path to make a driver that’s a proving ground for these great technologies. Put simply it’s Callaway’s fastest titanium driver ever.

XR Driver Features & Benefits

  • Speed from Speed Step Crown

To reduce drag and maximise speed through the swing, Callaway have combines a Speed Step Crown with an optimised aerodynamic head shape. Everything about the driver is optimised for aero efficiency, which is critical to add speed with less drag.

  • Speed from R.Moto face technology

Ball speed across the face has been increased by reducing 10 per cent of face weight to make it thinner. R.Moto leads to more energy efficient energy transfer all over the face which allows for CG to be  17% lower and deliver higher MOI.

  • Speed from maximum shaft load

The shaft is a key component to speed, that’s why XR comes stock with the new Project X LZ. It produces maximum shaft load during the downswing loading zone for greater energy transfer to the ball.

  • OptiFit Adjustability

Golfers can choose from eight different loft and lie configurations to find the perfect launch.

Available: February 20, 2015
Lofts: 9, 10.5, 12, 13.5
SRP: £279

XR PRO Features and Benefits

  • Higher Ball Speed Speed From R.Moto Face technology

R.Moto technology removes weight in the face to increase ball speed and create more efficient energy transfer across the face.

  • Low Spin From Forged Composite Crown

XR Pro has a 53 per cent lower Center of Gravity and 300 rpm lower spin than X2 Hot Pro. The multi material construction works with R.Moto for high ball speed all over the face and lower spin while maintaining forgiveness.

  • Maximum speed in an aerodynamic head shape

The Forged Composite crown leads to an enhanced aerodynamic head design that maximises speed for longer distance.

  • More clubhead speed from maximum shaft load
  • OptiFit Adjustability with eight different loft and lie configurations.

Available: March 20, 2015
Lofts: 9, 10.5
SRP: £299
