Driver test results: Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 video review

Callaway unveil Big Bertha Alpha 815 drivers

Long distance for everyone through low spin and forgiveness

5 Callaway have launched the new Big Bertha Alpha 815 and Big Bertha 815 Double Black Diamond drivers – the longest and lowest spinning drivers yet from the company.

With low spin, high performance and forgiveness, Callaway believe the Big Bertha Alpha 815 means you no longer need to compromise.

Instead of making you choose between the distance and performance that comes with low spin or the forgiveness you need to hit it straight, it gives you both in one club.

Callaway have also unleashed the Big Bertha Double Black Diamond as their “experts only” driver – made for players who hit the ball in the centre of the face most of the time.

The gravity core promotes lower CG and low spin is achieved with RMOTO Technology for a lighter, thinner face that creates more efficient energy transfer, high ball speed and is also very forgiving with adjustability.

Features and Benefits

RMOTO: It saves weight that allows us to produce a larger, more forgiving clubhead while maintaining a lighter swing weight and lighter overall club weight from an ultra thin face.

Gravity Core: You can move the CG up or down with the Gravity Core, and optimise your ball speed locations to wherever you usually hit the ball off the face.

Multi Material Construction: It has all the latest driver technologies for low CG, forgiveness and a hot face.

Performance Lightweight Premium Shaft: Callaway have put in a Fujikura 53g Speeder Motore 565 as the primary stock offering.

OptiFit Technology: An adjustable hosel lets you choose from a combination of 8 different loft (-1, S, +1, +2) and lie angle (Draw or Neutral) configurations. Adjustable heel and toe weights of 1g and 7g.

SRP:
Alpha 815: £379
Alpha 815 DD: £399
Available: November 14, 2014
Lofts: 9˚, 10.5˚, 12˚
