Nike launch new combination iron set
5 Nike’s new combination set is said to feature the perfect mix of precision, forgiveness, workability, sound and feel.
The VR Forged Pro Combo irons feature pocket cavities in clubs 3-6 for a high launch and forgiveness, and a split cavity in irons 7-PW, which provides a more penetrating flight for control.
The pocket cavities in the long irons feature a groundbreaking polymer injection, known to the brand’s engineers as ‘shot-making gel’, which improves both acoustic performance and feel. It is designed to make the forgiving, powerful clubs to feel and sound like a traditional blade, thus giving you the best of both worlds.
“We added the polymer to create a Tour-calibre set with long irons that are easier to hit, and players still see the profile they want at address without compromising on look, feel and sound.” – Tony Dabbs “Our Tour athletes wanted higher ball flight and better gapping in the long irons,” said Nike’s Tony Dabbs.

The VR Forged Pro Combo irons feature the latest version of high-frequency X3X grooves.
As standard, the irons feature a new True Temper Dynamic Gold shaft – the DG Pro – which works with the heads perfectly.
Expect to see them in shops on November 1 and to pay £599.99 for a 3-PW set.
