Callaway reveal new X Hot irons family

Meet the X Hot, X Hot Pro and X Forged models

Big things are expected from equipment giants Callaway in 2013 and their intentions are made clear with the release of an entirely new range of irons.
Each of the three models is designed for a specific player type. The X Hot and X Hot Pro models will, say Callaway, deliver a new standard in distance, while the new X Forged was designed by Roger Cleveland for better players.

X Hot

This is Callaway’s new flagship iron. With Speed Frame Face Technology, the X Hots are configured to create higher ball speeds and greater distance.

Tested as being 3mph faster and 10 yards further than Razr X Irons, they feature stronger lofts (a market trend), and a very low CG that doesn’t compromise a traditional ball flight trajectory or stopping power into greens.

With a Deep Undercut Cavity Design, which has allowed for the very low and deep CG, creating maximum forgiveness without losing aesthetic appeal when positioned behind the ball, the X Hots extremely forgiving.

X Hot Pro

These irons are designed to offer solid feel and performance for serious players.

Compare X Hot Pro to the Razr X Tours and you will see a thinner top line, longer hosel, shorter blade length, and more traditional lofts – all influences taken from Callaway’s Forged irons.

This completely re-engineered stainless steel iron features
the latest in face technology, feel management and precision grooves.

New J-Face Dynamics, creating a slightly different sound to X Hot, combine precise control of face thickness and undercut depth for an exciting blend of power, feel, shot-making accuracy and forgiveness that skilled players prefer.

X Forged

These irons represent premium one-piece forging. Taking influences from Callaway’s Prototype Iron and crafted by chief designer Roger Cleveland with direct input from the company’s Staff Professionals, X Forged provides the ultimate in feel and performance that you only get in a pure one-piece forging. Produced by Endo, one of the finest forging houses in the World, they are Triple Net Forged from 1020 carbon steel to ensure extremely tight tolerances that can’t be achieved through normal production methods. The more aggressive groove pattern, matched to the extreme precision construction, ensures the delivery of performance gives a ball flight and turf interaction that the very best players prefer.
Adding a Project X Pxi steel shaft that is 15g lighter that previous shafts used by Callaway, creates better feel at impact with the ball, giving the golfer ultimate feedback on every shot.
