Magnificent Morocco – a stunning destination

Enjoy a holiday that offers culture off the course and a great experience on it.

RANGING from trendy cities to rural villages, from magnificent mountain ranges to the wide expanses of deserts, Morocco has established itself as a permanently fashionable location.

It is a destination where you can experience exceptional weather and a genuinely distinctive holiday both on and off the course.

The best place to start exploring Morocco is Marrakech, the Northern African country’s vibrant capital city.

Here history and tradition blend with modernity and comfort to create an exotic and unforgettable location.

Boasting several world-class courses, the Moroccan capital is an ideal destination for a golfing holiday – particularly as the winter months often have better weather than is seen in the summer, and temperatures remain high all year round.

For an idea on how attractive the conditions are in the British winter months, the Ladies’ European Tour season will culminate with a visit to Marrakech just before Christmas, when both stages of Tour School for 2013 will be held over two weeks from December 6 to 17.

Two spectacular courses, Al Maaden Golf and Amelkis Golf Club, will host the first stage from December 6 to 9 and then the final stage the following week. The top 30 players and ties will earn their playing privileges for the 2013 Ladies’ European Tour.

Slightly further afield, arguably the country’s premier resort is Mazagan. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and set in magnificent landscaped gardens, it has a five-star hotel, exclusive casino, an invigorating health and beauty centre), nightclub, fine dining restaurants, retail boutiques and a links course designed by Gary Player.

Mazagan is located 60 miles south of Casablanca, a 45-minute transfer from the airport.

The resort’s five-star, five-storey hotel redefines luxury and world class service in Morocco. Its stunning grandiose quadrangle overlooks a magnificent internal courtyard and swimming pool. Here guests can take the plunge or enjoy chilling by the poolside, which has its own cafe bar.
