Surf bums and Volvos, with Freddie Jacobson

The Swedish PGA Tour star on being a surf bum and Batman

Best friend on tour It’s between Richard S Johnson, Ben Curtis and Jesper Parnevik.

Funniest tour player In Europe, it is Alvaro Quiros, it has to be. He’s awesome. On the PGA Tour I’d say Tom Gillis. He’s hilarious.

First job Paperboy.

First car Volvo. I got it as a sponsor car. It was nice. The first one I bought was a Volvo again. I’ve driven a lot of those.

Worst shot you’ve seen on tour We all hit bad shots – I don’t remember a specific one.

Favourite course I really like links courses so I’ll say St Andrews Old Course. Augusta just behind.

Favourite food and drink Italian food and American lemonade. Not the lemonade you get over here, the club soda half and half stuff.
I’d probably have a Bon Jovi record for my CD and the DVD would have to be something funny to lighten things up, like the Hangover films or Notting Hill. If you were not a golfer what would you be? Probably some sort of businessman. [Friend interjects] Yes, a surf bum! Definitely a surf bum.

One CD, book and DVD for a desert island I have all that on an island?! That’s a good island! I’d probably have a Bon Jovi record for my CD. The DVD would have to be something funny to lighten things up, like the Hangover films or Notting Hill – I love the character Spikey. I only read books for self-development so probably something to keep me sane!

Lookalikes? I’ve heard a couple but I’m not sure I agree. What’s that guy’s name in Batman? The guy who played the Joker? Heath Ledger? I’ve heard that one.

Proudest moment Where is she [looks for wife] it will probably be the kids! Career-wise, the Travelers was big – any time you win it’s big – and the Volvo Masters was special. So was my first win in Hong Kong. It’s tough to pick one.
