Get lined up correctly

Lining up left

When most of us line up we pick something between the target and the ball but then the eyes take over and we look back at the target. Your dominant eye will then try and pull you off-line and, nine times out of 10, the clubface shuts. A lot of that is down to the new technology, the shaft is a lot more leading and we don't get the hands far enough forward.

Clubface first

A magnetic stick will help point you in the right direction. Then take the time to set the clubface up first; some people walk in with their feet but it is best to get the club pointing at that interim target. Finally, be sure to get your lofts and lies checked.
