Q&A with James Morrison
The European Tour winner on shanks, Chinese food, and a swearing problem
Best friend on tour? Gary Boyd or John Parry
Funniest on tour? Richard Finch
Worst shot you’ve seen?
Someone hit a massive shank at tour school a couple of years ago, lost his ball then hit a fat hook into the water on a tough par 3
Last book you read? Something at school! I prefer to watch TV
First car? A Peugeot 206 – my dad bought it for me
One magazine, CD and a DVD for a desert island?
The DVD would be Shawshank Redemption, the CD would probably be Coldplay’s first album, and the magazine depends on whether or not I’m with my wife. If so, it’s a golf magazine, if not, Nuts!
I have to have three long tees, one short tee – all white – in my pocket at all times.
Favourite meal? Chinese - either crispy chili beef or duck and pancakes - with a Crown beer
Proudest moment? Winning in Madeira last year
One course for rest of your life? Hankley Common
Any superstitions?
I have to have three long tees, one short tee – all white – in my pocket at all times. I also carry an Australian 20-cent coin to mark, and a blue pitchfork you get at Open qualifying. I’m not really superstitious [laughs]
Bad habits? Swearing
Dream fourball? Tiger Woods, Richard Finch and Lee Evans
