Cottrell Park Golf Resort
, Cardiff
This complex near Cardiff has a couple of outstanding parkland tracks
Cottrell Park is a majestic setting for golf and is home to two championship-length 18-hole courses.
Both the Mackintosh and the Button Gwinnett are situated in historic parkland with views across the Brecon Beacons to the Mendips over the Bristol Channel.
Each course offers a different challenge to all standards of golfer. The Mackintosh is a woodland-parkland with an abundance of beautiful 300-year-old trees, amazing views and USGA-spec greens.
The Mackintosh course is named after Alfred Donald Mackintosh of Mackintosh the 28th Chief of Clan Mackintosh and Chief of Clan Chattan, who resided at Cottrell during the 19th and 20th Centuries.
The course provides 6,356 challenging yards off the white tees and has been designed around the original features of the rolling parkland, including a Roman Motte.
This championship course has been selected for a number of Welsh Golf Union and Welsh Ladies Golf Union events as well as County Matches - a huge compliment to a course so young. The Mackintosh course will test golfers of all standards to the best of their abilities.
Button Gwinnett also boasts USGA-spec greens and accuracy as well as length is required on this American-style course, which has several lakes as well as a stunning finishing hole.
