TOUR: Srixon players lock horns

With a wealth of high-profile golfers at their disposal, Srixon assembled a crack fourball of their finest players to participate in the new Silvermere Srixon Shootout which was held on May the 19th.

The illustrious Skins tournament featured four of Srixon's top staff professionals and the 500 strong crowd were not disappointed with the golf on display.

The fantastic fourball consisted of 69-time LPGA Tour winner Laura Davies, Spanish legend Miguel Angel Jimenez, Two-time European Tour victor Robert Lee, and European Challenge Tour member Greig Hutcheon, who stood in for a sick Henrik Stenson at short notice, although Stenson did make an appearance in the evening.

When play began, the golfers matched every blow and the crowd were treated to some sublime golf. Amazingly, every hole was halved thus forcing a nearest-the-pin tie break on the par-3 18th.

After four top shots, Hutcheon's approach to eight feet was just enough to beat Davies' attempt by four inches.

A good day was had by all and, thanks to Hutcheon's victory, one lucky member of the public was treated to a selection of Srixon equipment as well as a fantastic driving experience from fellow sponsors Mercedes-Benz who paraded their latest SLR Super Car for all to drool over.
