All the gear: McIlroy and Garcia swap drivers in Masters practice round
We reported yesterday how Rory McIlroy had switched from Callaway fairway woods to TaylorMade ahead of his 2017 Masters bid.
And you’d be forgiven for thinking he had ditched his Callaway GBB Epic driver too after seeing him tee off with a TaylorMade M2.
During a practice round on Wednesday, McIlroy and playing parter Sergio Garcia decided to swap big sticks on the tee which also saw the Spaniard having a go with Rory’s Epic Sub Zero.
It was the blue Superstroke grips on Garcia’s M2 which gave the game away.
McIlroy is a free agent and can use what he wants, Garcia is a long-time TaylorMade staffer so I’m not sure how well this will have gone down with his team.
Apologies Sergio if we’ve dropped you in it.
Andy Sullivan shows off custom MyJoys
We also reported this week how Andy Sullivan was sporting a special pair of Masters MyJoys (FootJoy’s customisation service)
And here they are in all their green glory on the greens of Augusta.
Note the green Ping branding, belt, sleeves and collars. We can only guess the colour of his underpants.
Tommy Fleetwood seduced by Mack Daddy Wedges
As another former Nike player, Tommy Fleetwood has been dabbling with new equipment.
The Englishman is one of the few players who has stuck with a number of Nike clubs in his bag.
But it seems he was unable to resist the stunning Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges.
Bernd Wiesberger pays tribute to Masters champions
We don’t often need reminding of the exploits of previous winners during Masters week.
But Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger wants to keep Augusta history at the forefront of his mind by having the initials of former Masters champions on the reverse of his Vokey SM6 lob wedge.
Do you know what the initials stand for on @BWiesberger's new #SM6 wedge? Hand stamped by @Vokeywedgerep. #InVokeWeTrust pic.twitter.com/OrSznfWuWu

Could new putter end Lee Westwood’s Augusta blues?
Lee Westwood has been the nearly-man of the Masters, but to his absolute credit, keeps coming back for more.
If he can find some form on the greens, he can be a force this week.
And his weapon of choice comes from the new Ping Sigma G range which have just hit pro shops up and down the UK.
