TaylorMade Milled Drind Wedges

More precise milling process adds consistency from wedge to wedge

The TaylorMade Milled Grind Wedges were created with input from tour players like Justin Rose and Jason Day.

The result the brand say is the most precise, balanced and best feeling wedge they ever produced.

So what makes the TaylorMade Milled Grind Wedges so good?

One thing TaylorMade did was ensure the leading edge and sole grind was individually CNC milled for each wedge.

The brand said wedges can often fail to main consistency during the manufacturing process so two wedges that say the same thing on the sole might not have the same exact specifications.

Basically, they believe it’s too difficult to do the grinds by hand and get them all the same.

And there are three specific grinds in the TaylorMade Milled Grind Wedges.

The low effective bounce (LB) grind provides the least amount of ground resistance.

A standard grind (SB) with mid-bounce, and a high bounce (HB) grind features a wider sole that offers the most ground resistance.

The TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges also have weight removed from the hosel and replaced more centrally for optimum centre of gravity positioning.

There’s also a new groove configuration that TaylorMade say will result in a lower launch angle but increase spin.

The new groove geometry features 38.5 percent steeper side walls and closer spacing.

This allowed TaylorMade to put and additional groove on the face.

And soft feel of these wedges face comes from the use of 8620 carbon steel.

We’ve already seen the TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges in the bags of a number of staff players including Justin Rose and Jason Day.
