1) Crazy long drive from Thomas Pieters..
We watched a brilliant rookie performance from Thomas Pieters last week at the Ryder Cup, so you’d think that this week he would be a bit drained and sluggish…
Think again, here he is hitting a drive of over 400 yards on the first day of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Yes we know the conditions are a bit different to over in America, but it’s still pretty damn impressive.
Huge. @Thomas_Pieters just drove the 407 yard 7th hole.

3) Hatton wins the first of many?..
We have all been massively impressed by what seemed to be a very comfortable win for Tyrrell Hatton at the Dunhill. Here are his final round highlights..

With his first win under his belt we expect the young man to kick on from here and really start to make a name for himself out on the tour.
Who knows, we could have another Ryder Cup rookie sensation on our hands in 2018..
4) Tiger is returning this week..
We’ve all been waiting, and after 14 months Tiger Woods is finally going to be teeing it up in a PGA Tour event and we can’t wait.
There are a number of reports surfing around social media that Tiger will be accompanied for his opening two rounds by none other than his old nemesis Phil Mickelson. How about that for a return, chucked into what will no doubt be the marquee pairing in Napa.
What an occasion this week will be at the Safeway Open whatever happens. One thing we know for sure though, is that the crowds will be a lot bigger than the event organisers would have been planning for a few months ago!
5) Farewell Nick
Nick Dougherty announced that the Dunhill Links would be his last ever event as a professional golfer as he turns his attention to broadcasting.
The @dunhilllinks will be my last tour event as a player as I follow an exciting path into broadcasting. Happy to say farewell at #StAndrews
— Nick Dougherty (@NickDougherty5) October 4, 2016
Dougherty played 331 events on the European Tour since he turned pro in 2001, winning on three occasions and amassing over £6million in prize money.
You will see him a lot more regularly now as a Sky Sports golf pundit. All the best Nick!
