Second Hand Shorts: Episode 2- The Takeaway

The Pro at The Shack shows us how to achieve a solid takeaway..

It’s time for another episode of ‘Second Hand Shorts’. You can watch the first episode all about grip right here

Today is all about the takeaway, and what we often seen is people getting disconnected from the body and get too much wrist hinge.

All I’m going to say to you is make one nice swing movement.

Having too much wrist hinge allows the club to become longer and making the arms and hands disconnect from the body.

Once you’ve made the correct set up really concentrate on making sure the shoulders are dominating the swing rather than your hands ands wrists.

As you make that movement with your shoulder sit will feel a lot more connected. Your shoulder and chest will feel more together and stable, resulting in a shorter back swing and better strike.

So remember;

  • Swing with your shoulders
  • Keep your chest and shoulders connected in the swing
